Patient Experience

Harrison Medical Center participates in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. HCAHPS is a national, standardized, publicly reported survey of a patient's perspective of hospital care. Participation in this survey allows prospective patients to make valid comparisons between Harrison and combined state and national patient experiences.

The HCAHPS survey asks patients 18 questions about their hospital experiences. These are totaled into two overall hospital measures, two individual measures, and six composite measures.

Quietness of hospital environment
Cleanliness of hospital environment

Composite measures include:

Communications with nurses
Communications with doctors
Responsiveness of hospital staff
