As a supporter of the Harrison legacy, your gift matters. No matter what the size of your gift, or the cause you choose among Harrison's many offerings, our hospital's not-for-profit status ensures that your gift is reinvested right back into the community to enhance health care. Won't you please consider making a gift today?
The Caregiver Tribute Program gives grateful patients and their families the opportunity to support Harrison Medical Center while honoring the Harrison team member who made a positive difference during the patient’s visit or stay. With a donation of any size, you can say “Thank you for your care...and your caring.” Click here for more information!
As Harrison looks to the future needs of our communities, we know that the best care begins with the best people. At Harrison Medical Center, nurses account for approximately 41 percent of the hospital’s 2,500-plus employees and they provide approximately 95% of all direct patient care. For many people, they are the face, hands and heart of exceptional care. They are also the front line of our healthcare system. Click here for more information!
Established to promote community support for Harrison Medical Center, the Harrison Circle recognizes individuals and organizations contributing $1,000 or more annually. While gifts of all sizes are important and needed, these gifts are essential to providing the highest levels of care, for our patients and the broader community. By joining this special circle of contributors, you affirm your commitment to the ideals of our community's medical center and acknowledge its dependence on community support. With each life celebrated, so our trees grow—leaf by leaf; life by life. By participating in the Trees of Life, you can celebrate a life in your own family while also helping to enhance the health of children in our community through Harrison Medical Center. An original work of art by Sanford Werfel, the three hand-carved trees are made of solid hardwood and represent the lush evergreen trees that surround the Harrison Silverdale campus. On display in the lobby of the Women's and Children's Center at Harrison Silverdale, the sculpture inspires all who visit to remember to celebrate the lives of those special to us. With each gift of $100, beautiful leaf plaque will be engraved with the person's name and date of birth (optional). Those born at Harrison Medical Center will be brass and those born elsewhere will be copper. Celebrate the life of your newborn, children, spouse, parents, or a departed loved one—anyone whose life you choose to celebrate. Please join us and celebrate life. If you have any questions, please contact us at 360.744.6760.
More than 290 employees, including 133 new donors in 2010, chose Harrison as one of their charitable choices. These donors gave more than $107,000 through the Employee Giving Program. Many employees responded to our invitation to pledge “an hour of pay per month” and became members of the Boomerang Club, received boomerang pins, and the knowledge that they are contributing to making Harrison, our community hospital, the very best. The Boomerang Club is a special recognition club just for employees.
The Employee Giving Program is open all year long with an awareness campaign that kicks off during the middle of May, following National Hospital Week. You can download a donation form. For more information, please contact Lisa Johnson at 360-744-6763. Thank you for making a difference here at Harrison.
Hospitals can be a scary place for anyone. Every year more than 78,000 people visit the Harrison Medical Center's emergency rooms at both the Silverdale and Bremerton campuses. Each situation is different and for the many children and elderly adults that come through the doors, the sights and sounds can be overwhelming.
Then in comes a new friend, someone soft and cuddly and ready for a hug. This is what makes Harrison different; it cares about the little things to make a stressful situation—all better.
You can help bring smiles to the patients seen at Harrison by donating or organizing a stuffed animal drive with your school, civic group, and church or even in lieu of gifts at a birthday party. Hundreds of animals are provided by the community and lovingly cared for by volunteers who individually place them in an air-tight bag after giving them a big hug to pass along. The animals are then delivered to the hospital campuses.
