Bd - Civilla 2013

James T. Civilla, Board Chair

Jim Civilla has served on Harrison’s board of directors since 2005. The Port Orchard resident also volunteers for the South Kitsap School District, participates in Relay for Life, and has coached youth sports. He is the treasurer and part owner of Westbay Auto Parts, Inc. and serves as a commissioner of the Kitsap Public Utility, District 1. He is a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, and Kitsap Economic Development Alliance. He also serves on the Franciscan Health System Board of Directors.

Bd - Nelson
Kelly R. Nelson, CPA, Vice Chair

Kelly R. Nelson, CPA, of Kingston, joined the Harrison Board of Directors in April 2010. She has over 20 years of experience as a certified public accountant and was managing member of Nelson Accounting Professionals, PLLC, of Poulsbo from 2002 to 2014. In October 2014, Kelly joined the Seattle firm Bader Martin, PS, as Director of High Net Worth Services.

Kelly first became interested in supporting Harrison after the loss of another family member to ovarian cancer in 2004. She believes that the members of our community deserve quality, compassionate heath care that is accessible and affordable.

Nelson has served as vice chair/treasurer of the Harrison Medical Center Foundation Board and has sponsored numerous nonprofit organizations. She is a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kitsap County Estate Planning Council.


Bd - Smalley
James L. Smalley, Secretary/Treasurer

James Smalley of Gig Harbor joined Harrison’s board of directors in 1997. A senior vice president of Morgan Stanley, the Gig Harbor resident also serves on the Kitsap County Art Council, is on the board for the Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor, and is Vice Chair for Sightlife, formerly known as NW Lions Eye Bank. He is also a past president of the Home Builders Association of Kitsap County where he was awarded life director status. He also serves on the Franciscan Health System Board of Directors.

BOD Veterane 10-27-10

David A. Veterane, Immediate Past Chair

Bainbridge Island resident David A. Veterane has served on Harrison’s board of directors since 2003. He is a retired founding partner of Rainier Investment Management and the Bainbridge Community Foundation board. He is a board member on the newly established Kossoye Project that promotes family gardens and simple community health initiatives in Ethiopia.


Ronald Wayne 2014



Ronald Wayne, MD, Chief of Staff

Ronald Wayne, MD, joined Harrison’s Board of Directors in July 2014 and also serves as Chief of Staff for the medical center.  Since 2005, he has served as president of Olympic Anesthesia Services, Inc (OA). In his role, both with Harrison and OA, Dr. Wayne focuses his efforts on quality improvement initiatives, and encouraging active engagement at all levels of clinical patient care.  Dr. Wayne resides in Poulsbo with his wife, Karen, and the youngest of their five children.  In his free time, Dr. Wayne enjoys boating, traveling, and photography.




Fred Barrett

Fred Barrett of Allyn joined the board in May 2011. For 30 years, Fred has successfully developed market-driven software products and services for both start-up and established companies. Fred founded Allyn Technology Group, Inc., a company that's leading innovation in supply chain visibility and energy smart grid technologies for business and residential electric customers. He is an active Rotarian and serves as board president for both the Pacific Northwest Salmon Center and the North Mason Education Foundation.


Bd - Roy Brooks FHS

Roy Brooks

Roy Brooks, chairman of the FHS Board, is an Olympic College graduate, and former chairman and CEO of Mountain Bank Holding Company and Westmark Electronics. Roy is also an active director of Emerald Home Furnishings and Washington Aviation Association.

Edward Dolle

Edward Dolle, RN 

Edward P. Dolle, RN, has more than 30 years of healthcare experience, which has included services in the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and in long-term care. He is currently district education and training director for Extendicare Health Services, Inc. He has served as a volunteer and board member for The American Red Cross, Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management, and Washington State Nurses Association.

Bd - Garguile

Mary Garguile

Mary Garguile, Vice President of Instruction at Olympic College, became a Harrison board member in 2006. The Bremerton resident is President of ACCESS, a national organization for Associate Degree Early Childhood Educators; and is a member of the Bremerton Central Lions. She has been recognized as a YWCA Woman of Achievement, and while at Olympic College earned the Jennie Mae Moyer Administrator Award and the Bremer Exceptional Faculty Award.

Mike Hoffman

Mike Hoffman has 27 years of management experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He also continues to be a member of the American Heart Association, Gig Harbor YMCA, Leukemia Society, Tacoma Yacht Club, University of Washington Tyee Club, and Young Life.

Bd - Anita McIntyre

Anita McIntyre, MD

Dr. McIntyre is a private practice physician with Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates in Silverdale. She also serves as vice president of the Kitsap County Medical Society and volunteers on medical team mission trips with Children of the Nations.

Bd - Reimer

Ronald Reimer, MD

As a physician at Harrison Medical Center for 33 years, Dr. Ron Reimer has provided a legacy of care to the patients, families and communities throughout Kitsap County. He is held in the highest regard by his patients, families, and colleagues alike, for the extraordinary level of commitment, compassion and collaborative care he provides. This same passion for service is evidenced as Dr. Reimer served for twelve years on the KPS Board of Directors, having served as Chair for three; he previously served on the Board of Directors for Hospice of Kitsap County, as president of the Kitsap County Medical Society, and as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Harrison Medical Center.

Born in Michigan, Dr. Reimer earned his B.S. from Michigan State University (magna cum laude), and his M.D. from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

Bd- Roszak

Joe Roszak

Joe Roszak has over 25 years of leadership experience as an executive director for not-for-profit agencies encompassing three different states. He currently serves as a highly visible CEO of Kitsap Mental Health Services, a complex community behavioral health agency comprised of a comprehensive continuum of services, is responsible for a multi-million dollar budget and is accountable for the delivery of behavioral health services to thousands of adults, children and families annually through a diversity of programs at multiple work sites throughout the Kitsap region. Joe has acute business skills that have been demonstrated in many aspects of board development, organizational transformation, resource management, and service delivery systems. Joe’s leadership provides inspiration and compassion for individuals, staff and the community while maintaining the delicate balance between fiscal fitness and accomplishment of the agency’s mission.

Bd - Tift

Rick Tift

Rick Tift, MBA, is the executive director for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. He has received numerous awards during his career, including two Navy Meritorious Civilian awards. Each year, the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility Chapter of the Naval Civilian Managers Association selects one leader within the organization that exemplifies their positive work environment with a diverse, professional, and dedicated purpose. In 2010, Tift was selected as the 2010 NCMA Manager of the Year. Nominated by a member of his staff, he was described as the type of leader that "stands apart as an example for others to emulate.

A resident of Bremerton, Tift is a member of the Downtown Bremerton Rotary Club and the Bremerton and Olympic Peninsula Navy League. He also serves on the board of Leadership Kitsap.

Beau Bakken 2014






Beau Bakken

Beau Bakken joined Harrison’s Board of Directors in July 2014.  Active in his community as fire chief for the North Mason Regional Fire Authority, he is also a member of the North Mason Rotary. He was a recipient of the Healthy Tomorrow Award in 2008, as well as a 40 Under 40 honoree, reflecting his accomplishments that make him the youngest fire chief in Washington state. Beau graduated with his masters of public administration in 2012 from the University of Washington. He and his wife, Brittney, reside in Belfair.



Greg Hoisington










Gregory Hoisington, DO


Gregory Hoisington, DO, joined Harrison’s Board of Directors in July 2014. He is a pediatric physician at The Doctors Clinic in Silverdale. He studied medicine at the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa, earning his degree in 1989.  He is certified with the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.  He resides in Silverdale with his wife, Victoria (Vicki).
