The safety and quality of care of our patients is our primary concern. If you or a family member have a concern about your care, please speak with your physician, nurse, or nurse manager of the unit where you are receiving care. If you feel the issue is not resolved, please call our Service Excellence Department at 360-744-6535 or toll free at 800-281-4024.

When to use Code HELP
• If a patient, family member, or visitor has a clinical concern.
• If a family member or visitor sees that something "just isn’t right" with the patient.
• If noticeable, clinical changes occur in the patient, and the healthcare team is not
present or not responding to concerns of the patient, family member, or visitor.
• If confusion exists about how care is being managed or what the care plan is.
How to activate Code HELP
• Dial 0 from any hospital phone.
• Give the patient's name, your name, the patient’s location, and the nature of your
concern.
• Code Help procedures will be activated and appropriate staff members will be notified.
Who responds to Code HELP
• A designated team of Harrison clinical professionals will meet at the patient's bedside.
• A Code Help team will assess, intervene, and communicate accurate, relevant
information to all other members of the healthcare team.
• One of Harrison's Service Excellence representatives will conduct a follow-up meeting
during the patient's stay with the patient, family members, and others involved. If your
concern cannot be resolved at this level, you may contact the following:

• The Joint Commission
The Joint Commission standards and safety goals deal with organizational quality of care issues and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. Harrison is committed to providing our patients with the highest quality and safest care.
If your concern cannot be resolved at this level, you may contact the Joint Commission. The Joint Commission does not address individual billing issues, payment disputes, or individual clinical management of patients. There are several ways to file a complaint.
