Surgical Care

The risk of surgical site infections can be reduced when the appropriate medications are given at the appropriate time. The following are measures used in the prevention of surgical site infections.

Antibiotic given within one hour (in patient)

Antibiotic given within one hour (out patient)

Appropriate antibiotic before surgery (in patient)

Appropriate antibiotic before surgery (out patient)

Antibiotic discontinued within 24 hours

Beta blocker continuation

Blood clot prevention ordered

Blood clot prevention received

Blood sugar control

Hair removal
