Wound Treatments and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Wound treatments
Our doctors, registered nurses, and physical therapists conduct comprehensive evaluations of wounds and their underlying causes. We pride ourselves on our collaborative approach, and work carefully with you and your physician to develop an appropriate diagnostic and treatment plan.

Our providers use advanced therapies and dressings to help prevent infection and promote healing. When combined with innovative treatments like hyperbaric oxygen therapy, complex wounds vastly improve.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
Patients with complex wounds may benefit from hyperbaric oxygen therapy. This painless, non-invasive treatment enhances the body’s natural healing and strengthens the immune system, promoting healing.

While inside a treatment chamber, a patient breathes in 100 percent oxygen in a pressurized environment. The increase in pressure allows more oxygen to enter the blood, and encourages the creation of blood vessels and collagen—both necessary for wound healing. The therapy also activates white blood cells to fight infection. It can be used as a primary treatment or combined with other treatments.

Patients with the following conditions may benefit from this treatment:

  • diabetic foot ulcers
  • pressure ulcers
  • traumatic injuries
  • lower extremity wounds
  • soft tissue and bone infections
  • radiation tissue damage
