Improved cardiovascular care

Cardiovascular care at Harrison

We bring together modern cardiovascular technological capabilities, a premier team of medical experts, and specially trained caregivers. We’re with our patients every step of the way—from diagnosis to treatment to individualized recovery and rehabilitation programs, education, and support.

  • Nearly 2,800 patients were treated in Harrison’s cardiovascular labs last year. Based on previous statistics, that number is projected to rise by a few hundred cases each year through 2015.

  • We perform lifesaving balloon angioplasty or coronary intervention (door-to-balloon time) in 58 minutes—more than 30 minutes faster than the recommended national goal.

  • We perform electrophysiology procedures that restore the heart’s rhythm, such as implanting pacemakers and automatic defibrillators. Our interventional heart specialists can diagnose—and frequently treat at the same time—irregularities in the heart’s electrical system.

  • Our vascular specialists and surgeons treat the veins and arteries that make up the vascular system using sophisticated treatments from noninvasive diagnostic tests to minimally invasive procedures to complex surgeries.

  • Our award-winning cardiac surgery program ranks among the top in the state and has earned the nation’s highest category of quality.

We look forward to providing our community with continued exceptional cardiovascular care in the new Heart & Vascular Center at Harrison by enhancing comfort, refining efficiency, and improving quality. Learn more about our cardiovascular services and specialists.

Heart & Vascular Center—New technology
We've equipped three brand new labs with state-of-the-art technology. Our clinicians can take much higher quality images of patients from head to toe within the spacious labs. Patients now can receive diagnosis, procedures, and treatment in one place.

Our new equipment features table-side controls, which keeps the clinician right by your side. This convenient new technology also reduces exam times and increases efficiency, which means we can treat you more quickly and comfortably.

Heart & Vascular Center—Special features

  • The center’s design expresses the Harrison brand, similar in look and feel of recent construction projects: Harrison Port Orchard, Harrison Belfair, and Harrison Poulsbo.

  • The center’s décor balances healthgrade-standard materials, surfaces, and colors with modern design elements.

  • Commissioned artwork: A glass heart sculpture is on display at the entrance of the new center. Created by glass artist Keir Legree of Savoy Studios in Portland, Oregon, this abstract piece exemplifies our region’s distinct glass art, which is internationally renowned. Legree studied under Dale Chihuly. Visit Savoy Studios.
