The following are some of the questions people frequently ask us:

Q. I'm worried about pain following my operation.
A. Your surgeon and anesthesiologist will work together to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. Our philosophy is to aggressively manage pain, so this is something we take very seriously. Let your doctor, nurse, or other caretaker know right away if something hurts.

Q. I live alone and won't have anyone with me after surgery. I'm not sure I'll be able to manage.
A. Harrison's social workers will discuss your situation with you. Many patients require extra assistance at this time. The social worker will explain options and help you obtain the services you need.

Q. I take vitamins and an herbal supplement. Does my surgeon need to know about this?
A. Vitamins, herbal supplements, and any other over-the-counter medication should be reported to your physicians. In many cases you will need to stop taking these for several days prior to surgery.
